High gas costs seen through fall (Above $1.50 till Nov)
http://www.msnbc.com/news/963446.asp?0cv=CB10

U.S. drivers can expect high gasoline costs through the autumn, with the national monthly pump price not falling below $1.50 a gallon until November, the government said Monday.

GASOLINE COSTS, WHICH hit a record high of almost $1.75 a gallon two weeks ago, should fall to a monthly average of $1.67 in September, $1.55 in October and then finally drop below $1.50 in November, the Energy Information Administration said in its monthly energy forecast.

<snip>

“This month, pump prices should begin to recede because many of the local supply problems have been alleviated and the driving season winds down following the Labor Day weekend,” the Energy Department’s analytical arm said.

Meanwhile, demand this winter for heating oil, electricity and natural gas should be lower, but consumers will be paying more overall to heat their homes with natural gas, EIA said.

1. How conveeeeeeenient.. Just in time for the refineries
to RIP US OFF on heating fuel for the east coasters who rely on that type of heating..

Then... after a winter of gouging, it will be time again to gouge for the srping & summer "driving season"..

They have us right where they want us :(

2. Of course
Did you all notice that as soon as we pulled the troops out of Saudia Arabia gas went up 20 cents a gallon?

Do you think that's a coincidence? I don't.

3. They mean until Sept. 2004
How many of us, with the chance to steal BILLIONS and get away with it scot-free, would decline?

Now that crime is legal (for allies of the Imperial Family), we've seen a lot of this "thumbing their noses" behavior because they know they CAN do anything they want...anything at all...and get away with it.

5. Very doubtful.
For a record low price of gas, they have to give it AWAY for free, and those people in greed doesn't understand the word free, and probably won't.

11. Yes I am not holding my breath waiting for the champion of gus guzzling
.....autos everywhere, Spence 'The consumer will be the one to pay for upgrading the power grid of course" Abraham to get to the bottom of it with his "investigation." That is akin to assigning Henry Clay Frick to investigate the poor treatment of steel workers. Somehow I doubt Mr. Abraham will get to the bottom of why the companies that employ some of Dumbya's biggest campaign contributors are gouging the consumer.

But the gas run up will of course allow the oil company executives to fatten their political warchests to contribute more to Dumbya's campaign. Can't have them incur too much financial hardship don't ya know!

6. Chimpy is gaming the system...
By pulling LOTS of oil out of open markets, by filling up the strategic oil reserve. By varying the rate, he is creating margins between wholesale and retail products, allowing the big boys to make a killing on those margins.

This is the sort of thing that happens in a Fascist State that exists for the benefit of the plutocracy. Look forward to another year of this crap.

7. Yes
That is exactly the main cause of the high oil/gas rates
smirk is buying oil for the strategery oil reserve at a time
when prices are too high, making them even higher,
thanks oil buddies,

It will hurt him in the end though, this economy is oil based,
and when prices rise, the economy suffers even more,

defeat bush

9. I'd kill to pay the national average
"GASOLINE COSTS, WHICH hit a record high of almost $1.75 a gallon two weeks ago..."

I'm paying $2.19 per gal for regular unleaded in CA. How can I get in on the national average (aside from moving to a Red state)?

10. What kind of drivel this way spin?
There's no way on earth that the oil situation will improve with Iraq oil no longer being shipped, the Saudis making the most of the situation and Chavez holding tight. Remember, we used to buy up most of the Iraqi oil on the spot market, which we can no longer do thanks to smirkco. Oil supplies are too damned tight.

And as for natural gas, I think these columnists should read about Peak Gas. Our national reserves are very low. The supply for winter is WAY short and we're in deep shit this winter's heating bills. Pray for a mild winter, guys.

This isn't going to get better.
