We've equalled the highest monthly death toll yet in this "war" and may surpass it. Even Michael Savage has said that this administration is "playing" this war to be politically correct just like the administrations did in Vietnam and fails to acknowledge it is now a guerilla war with little chance of our success as long as we played the game we did in Nam. And our kids keep on dying. We had no more reason to attack Nam than we did Iraq. Won't we ever learn
I need to add www.icasualties.org.

2. The Powell Doctrine came out of Vietnam |
|
A key point was to never again commit the US military to fighting a counter-insurgency. Overwhelming force was to be used in tandem with well-defined, achieveable military objectives and a clear exit strategy.
Of course, Bush missed that whole Vietnam thing.
