Exiled Texas Dems Returning Home
Sorry I don't have a link yet. NPR has reported that all of the exiled Texas Dems are returning home, after they attend a federal hearing in Laredo. Apparently they felt their position was no longer sustainable after one senator dropped out.

What can I say. They fought the good fight. (BTW, sorry if this has already been posted.)

2. Three cheers for the Texas 11 (or 10)
They are returning home, but they are not giving up. The Move-On ads are starting to run and there is still the court challenge.

No matter what happens in the end, we should all be proud of these democrats.

8. Dropout Senator said other Dems privately told him ...
...it was OK to dropout of the pack. Personally, I find that a little difficult to believe. Why would they want this thing to end the way it has?

Just doesn't make any sense to me. :(

10. what he said was
he talked to his constituents, and THEY told him he should return. (No word on just which constituents that was)

However, this is not over. The governor must call ANOTHER special session first, and then the 11 can just leave the state AGAIN.

Special session would cost the taxpayers a lot of money, and if the dems leave, it would all be wasted $ AGAIN.

Keep up the fight!

11. I heard Whitmire on NPR Tavis Smiley show yesterday...
and he claimed that the other 10 TX Senators in NM had supported him in his return to Texas. Then, immediately following that interview was an interview with one of the remaining 10 Senators (Royce West) and he said that (emphatically) NONE of the 10 had encouraged Whitmire to leave. Quite the opposite in fact.

This link is to the audio recording.
