http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/3094180.stmSerious fighting has broken out between Liberian government forces and soldiers from the main rebel movement, Lurd.
The clashes in the town of Kakata, northeast of Monrovia, are the most significant since the arrival in Liberia of West African peacekeepers known as Ecomil.
The chief of staff of the West African peace-keeping force here, Colonel Theophilus Tawiah, said the fighting in Kakata broke out before his forces - some 600 soldiers from Guinea Bissau - arrived in the town on Tuesday morning.
Colonel Tawiah said that since government forces had until now been in control of Kakata, Lurd must have mounted an attack.
