EVEN the sceptics are questioning the origins of a strange light that hovered over Darwin on Saturday night.

Laboratory technician Julie Lynn was relaxing on the balcony with husband Nigel at their Leanyer home when they noticed the UFO about 8.30pm. A self-described sceptic, Mrs Lynn believes there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for why the UFO hovered above Darwin - she just has no idea what it could be.

"It hovered in the one place for at least two hours but had moved significantly when we checked on it again before we went to bed."

The UFO was described as being shaped like three connected ball-shaped spheres that flashed blue, green and red from as many as six different light sources.

Since this was there for the whole evening, right up until Julie and Nigel decided to hit the sack, why didn't they bother to scrounge up a camera? Maybe Nigel is a deadbeat, but Julie's "laboratory technician" wages should be enough to pick one up, even in Leanyer.

20. That was my first thought, too

I've seen UFOs, as have many people in my hometown, but they always move too quckly to get a photo. My dad had one hover near his neighborhood (others saw it too) last year. He got his camcorder and filmed it for awhile, but the UFO was silver (long cigar shaped thing), and the sky was gray, so his camcorder wouldn't focus properly. Two hours and no photos-well, that's just inexcusable!

I think it's just a new concept vehicle so Cheney can get around faster. That way, he's up on what's going on around the world and can call Bush on his super-secret cell phone and tell him what needs to be done. No doubt it runs on some type of fuel Cheney owns stock in.
