LONDON (AFP) - Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf, in London for talks with British Prime Minister Tony Blair (news - web sites), said the world is "absolutely" less safe because it is failing to tackle the core causes of terrorism.
Musharraf, a frontline ally in the US-led war against Osama bin Laden (news - web sites)'s Al-Qaeda network, said in an interview to be broadcast later Monday that political disputes, poverty and illiteracy were fueling anger and resentment in Muslim countries.
During his weekend trip to Washington, Musharaff stressed that resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict was key to winning the war on terror and a British analyst here said he would find a "sympathetic" ear in Blair.
In London, Blair's spokesman said: "The issues which we (Blair and Musharraf) will be discussing will be counter-terrorism. Iraq (news - web sites) will obviously be an issue; Afghanistan (news - web sites) will obviously be an issue."
