Bomb Rocks North Iraq; Ambush Kills U.S. Soldier
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A car bomb killed at least one person and wounded scores, including six American military personnel, in largely peaceful Kurdish northern Iraq, the U.S. military said Wednesday.

In a separate attack, one U.S. soldier was killed and another wounded when their vehicle was ambushed northeast of Baghdad, U.S. Central Command said.

The two incidents hammered home the cost of the U.S.-led occupation hours after Iraq's American-appointed Governing Council took a step toward international legitimacy by securing a seat at an Arab League meeting in Cairo.

U.S.-led forces in Iraq have come under attack almost every day since they ousted president Saddam Hussein five months ago.

1. Is this the sum total for the last two days?
One American dead, nine wounded, and 87 Billion dollars.

<U.S. officials mostly blame Saddam loyalists for those attacks and for a RELENTLESS GUERILLA WAR (emphasis added) on occupying forces.>

Well that's something new, they are calling it exactly what it is. Maybe they should inform Herr Rumsfeldt and the neo con clique that took over what used to be the USA.

2. Bogged Down
Hopefully the UN will not put troops into Iraq, if they do this will free up Bushs' minions to attack Syria and/or Iran. I think it may be better for the peace of the world for the US Troops to be tied down for as long as Bush is in Office. Let's face it most of these troops were gung ho Bushities---now they got what they wished for---have a nice time touring Iraq chumps!

3. Car bomb hits U.S. intelligence HQ - TGM (same?)
A suicide car bomber struck the U.S. intelligence headquarters here, a Kurdish security official told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

He said three Iraqis were killed, including a 12-year-old boy.

Six Americans were wounded, three of them with serious injuries to their abdomen caused by flying glass.

The official said 41 Iraqis were hurt, adding that the suicide bomb vehicle was packed with TNT.
