"new tape" of al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden and his right-hand man
Ayman al-Zawahri on Wednesday.

On the eve of the 9-11 anniversary, President Bush is urging that police be given new powers to go after suspected terrorists. He wants law enforcement authorities to be given the same abilities to investigate and prosecute possible terrorists as they already have to go after drug dealers and mobsters.

The president's outlining his proposals this afternoon during a visit to the FBI academy in Quantico, Virginia.

Bush is also meeting today with Kuwait's prime minister to discuss Iraq and the war on terror and holding a private screening of the documentary "The Twin Towers."

Aides say in Quantico, Bush will maintain that his administration has made great strides in securing America since the attacks two years ago. But he'll acknowledge more needs to be done.

Bush will urge Congress to pass three major measures, McClellan said. They are:

-- Allowing law enforcement authorities to bypass a judge or grand jury and issue "administrative subpoenas" in terrorism investigations where "time is of the essence."

-- Expanding the ability to presumptively deny bail for terrorism suspects. McClellan said this was essential to preventing suspects from fleeing.

-- Expanding the death penalty for terror related crimes.

Oddly enough, when I saw this article on the Comcast website, it was mentioned that All-Jizz said the tape was made in April or May. When I went to CNN, they said it was unlcear when the tape was made. So...the Bush gang knows of this tape months in advance, and then either tells All-Jizz to hold the tapes airing until a time it will have the most impact.

The timing isn't odd at all. It was produced and released to coincide with the second anniversary of 9/11 so that Bin Laden could call all of his followers to take advantage of the war in Iraq. Many of us knew he would do so eventually. That's one of the reasons we protested. I'm not into the tin foil hat theory about the CIA or Chimpy's administration. The tape is real.

Bin Laden is alive and well, and Chimpy doesn't give a damn.

We have failed to defend ourselves. Thousands of Americans are dead, and Bin Laden is still alive.
