Newly appointed CIA director Porter Goss has picked a career Republican communications professional to be the next head of public affairs at the agency.

Jennifer Millerwise was most recently a spokeswoman for the Bush-Cheney 2004 campaign.

Her appointment has not yet been finalized, according to administration officials who declined to be identified. But a former senior CIA official who maintains contacts at the agency's Langley, Va., headquarters confirmed to United Press International that she was Goss's choice.
