Police today arrested the husband of the former Pakistani prime minister Benazir Bhutto in connection with the killing of a former judge and his son in 1996.
Asif Ali Zardari was taken into custody at an airport near the capital, Islamabad, after arriving from Karachi to address a political rally in nearby Rawalpindi, Nafees Siddiqi, a lawyer and opposition member, said.
He was detained hours after a court ordered him to be rearrested for failing to appear at a bail hearing for the murder case.
Pakistan's supreme court last month granted bail to Mr Zardari, who has spent eight years in jail facing charges of corruption, murder and drug smuggling.
