CIA Tape Analysis 'Inconclusive' Bin Laden Voice

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A CIA (news - web sites) analysis of the audio portions of a tape released this week was "inconclusive" on whether it contained the voice of Osama bin Laden (news - web sites), but found "high confidence" that it contained the voice of his main deputy, Ayman al-Zawahri, a CIA official said on Thursday.

"The CIA has high confidence that the tape contains the voice of Ayman Zawahri. The analysis of the alleged bin Laden portion is inconclusive," the official said. "CIA will continue to analyze that portion of the tape. It is possible there will not be a more definitive conclusion."
