The BBC is reporting that there is a 3 minute silence planned in the UK next wednesday out of respect to those suffering and dieing in the Asian Tsunami disaster.

Silence should roll across the globe like a new years cheer. I also think that it is apropriate to celebrate New Years Eve. We must always celebrate life.

We know full well that those behind the slaughter of the Iraqis won't be joining in the 3 minutes of silence. But still, there are many people over there who tried to stop this criminal war and are just as ashamed of their government as we are. Their gesture is welcome...

The war supporters- I hope they seize the opportunity to spend those 3 minutes searching their empty souls but fat chance I'm sure.

Blair and Bush will probably have a 3 minute telephone call about where to drop the next litter of cluster bombs.

14 years of silence? Kind of a low estimate seeing that they destroyed an entire civilization.
