Bush Plans to Meet Germany's Schroeder at U.N.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush, setting aside a yearlong feud, plans to meet German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly this month.
U.S. officials said on Friday that a meeting between Bush and Schroeder was planned during Bush's Sept. 23-24 visit to New York for the annual meeting.

The two leaders have shaken hands and exchanged pleasantries at international summits over the past year, but have not had a separate meeting.

Schroeder has been a leader of the anti-war coalition along with French President Jacques Chirac. Bush was outraged that Schroeder took his criticism of U.S. policy against Iraq on his re-election campaign a year ago and U.S.-German relations were damaged.

Don't worry, they don't use big words either, and they've got pretty pictures. I'm sure Gerhard would get a big chuckle when you show him the cover.

Warning - This is a conservative web site, with some scary articles, this just happens to be one of them.

7. Why should he?
Both have led their countries into illegal wars, without a mandate from the UN, both have told incredible lies. Both have ruined the economy of their countries and both have used the war against Iraq to turn away their voters from the mess their countries are in. Schröder using the resentments against the USA, playing the peace-friendly european, Bush giving the cowboy.
Why isn't it enough for you, If I call both of them Scheisskopf?
Greetings from Germany,
Dirk

8. Any help from "Old Europe" should hinge on...
the resignations of Rummy, Wolfowitz, Perle, and most certainly, Powell.

Anything less will only serve to enable a sick and twisted political agenda.

9. Just to add this....
as soon as this self-appointed "comrade of the bosses" - Schröder - can obtain to make clear, that some big german corporations can earn money there, we're into Iraq, at least our corporations. And they will make a kind of deal about how to emphazise each others role in the whole conflict or other parts of the "war against terror".
Sorry,
Dirk
