Blind Faith Can Be Costly - Texas Baptists
In Beaumont, Texas, more than a hundred Baptists -- like Frieda Jackson -- invested in faith.

And were fleeced in the name of God -- by a man of God.

"I'm like, OK. I'm helping him, I'm helping my church, I'm helping myself," said Fredia Jackson.

Helping their church was like giving to God. And as in most churches, the pastor there held a special trust.

"I lost $110,000. Me and my wife together,"

4. Same stuff happened here in AZ...
a lot of devout Baptists got taken to the cleaners by their investment group. I think some of the money was paid back but nothing close to what was lost. Hell awaits the con-men, one hopes.

14. It translates like this:
"Begging for God's help, but hammering away at it."
Basically, don't be a religious idiot.

7. in wicca...there is a general rule
go not "pay" for classes and teachers are not supposed to charge for knowledge. paying for your own supplies, books is something different but there are ethical issues about charging a cover to have contact with the goddess. there are some festival/workshops where you might have to pay to get in but in general there are no tithes in wicca.

These people thought they were going to get an outlandish return on the investment, i.e., thought they were going to be getting more than they knew they deserved.
