The statement of condolence released late Friday contained the first confirmation by the U.S. military in Baghdad of any deaths in Friday's incident, when Iraqi police said U.S. forces fired on three vehicles carrying police that were chasing a car involved in highway banditry. Nine people were also wounded, police said.

"While conducting operations against enemy forces, U.S. soldiers were involved in an unfortunate incident near Fallujah, Iraq (news - web sites), in which a Jordanian hospital was damaged and at least one death of friendly personnel resulted," the military statement said. "We deeply regret this incident and extend our sincerest condolences to the families of the deceased."

"We shouted 'We are police. We are police.' Then we drove off the road into a field," Arkan Adnan Ahmed, 19, said at Fallujah Hospital, where he was being treated for a shoulder wound. "They started shooting from all sides." He said the shooting began about 1:30 a.m. Friday.

1. It's another reason we should get the hell out of there.......period.
They keep saying that "we are lettign the Iraq's police themselves".

Give them back their war torn country...they have been beaten. Thier leader are gone. Put the UN in to monitor the rebuilding and potential issues.

But it's time to leave.

4. Aw, give 'em some money; that always helps
What were we giving the families of "accidental casualties" in Afghanistan? Something like $100?

Winning the hearts and minds of people around the world.

5. It's an awful situation. Think about the high gear these troops have been
in since arriving in Iraq. The body defense mechanisms can't stay in overdrive without breaking down at some point.

I feel for the troops and the Iraqi's.

This is Gerge Bush's fault.
