Colin Powell to Visit Iraq, Kuwait

GENEVA, Sept. 13 — Secretary of State Colin Powell will visit Iraq after concluding his discussions of Iraq with U.N. Security Council members in Geneva, the State Department said Saturday.

POWELL WILL TRAVEL to Kuwait and Iraq but did not specify a date, the department said in a brief statement. He was concluding his visit here Saturday afternoon. “He will confer with top leaders of our friend an ally about the situation in the region and our joint efforts to build stability,” State Department Richard Boucher said, alluding to the stop in Iraq.
