Bare-Cheeked Protesters Plan to Bushwhack Dubya
CAMPAIGNERS hope to halt an as yet unannounced visit to Britain by US President George W Bush this autumn, by giving him the bum’s rush.

Tim Ireland, the organiser of the web-based campaign “Bare Your Bum at Bush” is calling for thousands of UK citizens to pledge to undermine the visit by “mooning” at the American leader at every opportunity.

He argues that this would prevent positive photo-opportunities and register protest against Britain’s close co-operation with US foreign policy.

Ireland, creator of the internet site Bloggerheads, waged a 10-month war of attrition against Tony Blair which is widely credited with forcing the Prime Minister to fulfil a long-standing pledge to create a way for voters to e-mail him.

(snip)

Ireland’s latest project was initiated when US First Lady Laura Bush appeared to let slip that a visit to Britain was being scheduled for later this year, and would include a visit to the House of Lords. The IT consultant, based in Surrey, argues that Bush has already cancelled one visit to Britain prior to the war on Iraq for fear of a negative reception. By organising visible opposition via the internet, he hopes to achieve the same outcome again.

2. Poodle will be so disappointed if his master stays away

He likes it when master throws the frisbee so he can run after it and leap in the air to catch it in his teeth. It's so much fun it makes his tail wag he is so happy. Poodle hasn't been having much fun after his little romp and splash in the surf in sunny Barbados back in August, in case you hadn't noticed.

Was that the visit where he wanted to be guaranteed a standing ovation?

8. an idea whose time has come...
...America needs your butt cheeks.
...mooning at EVERY Bush appearance....
...i would be willing to kick in a a few bucks to go toward legal defense of anyone who manages to wreck a staged photo op with a full moon in the background.
....guerrilla moon units should begin training now.

10. I likes it.
I think mooning should become the universal symbol of protest.

If you go to a city council meeting and they are being bad councilers, drop yer pants.

From the city council to the federal goons - drop your pants.

He doesn't realize that NO ONE gets near Bush unless they are guaranteed friendlies. He doesn't go for "happy crowds" anymore!- Rove would NEVER permit it.

18. Bush hasn't been to England...wonder what the rules are there....
I was visiting this summer and Number 10 Downing Street is blocked off but the cars pass right in front of the crowds.

Blair was returning and, I was in front of the group stopped by the police in front of the gate. His Jaguar passed 3 feet in front of me.

They would have to close off the main road if * comes over to London.

22. Go around to the other end of Downing Street ...
... via the Horse Guards parade grounds and there aren't anywhere near the number of people. (That's how I met Margaret.) They blocked off Downing Street During Thatcher's tenure purportedly due to the "Troubles" even though they'd been going on for years. Before that, I was able to walk on the sidewalk right at No. 10. I kinda doubt they'd block London's main streets for Chimpy McPuckeredanus - Londoners would be livid. If Chimpy and his blow-up wife stay at #10, Whitehall is a key thoroughfare, especially for the tourist busses and bureaucrats going to/from the government buildings along there. The traffic over Westminster Bridge would be boggled.
