Woman Sues Gene Simmons Over VH1 Sex Talk

" Georgeann Walsh Ward, 53, of Chester, N.Y., says in court papers that a photo of her appeared 11 times during the report on KISS, shown on the network several times in July and August, while Simmons claimed to have had sexual encounters with 4,600 women.

in that manner...the truth is always a defense...if Simmons portrayal of her is correct, she will lose..if not..HE IS THE PUBLIC citizen..not her and unless the program got signed releases from her for airing her pic..she will probably win. I'm closing in on senior citizenhood. I went to law school when Affirmative Action forced the schools to admit women in groups the same size as men. I endured being called "lawyerette" when called on by male law professors who didn't approve of "lady lawyers," and I raised two daughters.

I am here to tell you that females of all ages - if they're lucky - are always "girls."

It's all about the acts, not the words, but I do understand pet peeves.

Boys can be lawyers, too, you know.

Just to clarify: I have no problem with women being called girls, just when "men" and "girls" are used together to refer to adult men and women. I have no problem with "girls" as long as "boys" is used also in the same context!

I believe words are important-language reflects morals and attitudes, no matter how subtle.

Thank you for forging the path, so to speak. It bothers me that a lot of women in their 20's and 30's now totally take these gains for granted. It is important to acknowledge that our ability to choose careers that were not open to women before didn't come without a fight.

I'm not ashamed of anyone I've slept with, but that doesn't mean I would appreciate having my name and face plastered all over some TV channel in conjunction with a single one of them.

It bothers me that you somehow see sleeping with someone -- even someone famous -- equivalent to giving up one's privacy. ]

Ward's lawsuit, filed Thursday, asks for unspecified damages from Simmons and from Viacom, VH-1's parent company, for alleged defamation and invasion of privacy.

AND, if anyone's interested, he wasn't famous when they were first involved.

he didn't produce the program.

They used the pictures without making sure they had clearances... if they didn't have clearances, they should have done a mosaic fx on her face when the shot was used.

The producer/writer of the piece let it go. The editor let it go. The director doing the online mix-down let it go. The person in charge of clearances let it go. The executive producer let it go. The legal department let it go. Nothing gets to air on those programs without lots of people reviewing it before it gets to air.

Gene Simmons can talk about sleeping with the whole world, but if he's not the one directly putting the tape to air, he's pretty much free and clear on this. But something tells me she signed something and doesn't remember signing it... 20 years ago.
