They're still going to try to cut Veterans retirement benefits by whatever amount they get for disability (say from being around depleted uranium too long . . . ).

9. Perhaps you'd like to lead by example
And discuss the news item/article linked then? As opposed to everyone else who seem intent on breaking the rules. :)

10. Well, this is a Financial Times article..
...and the headline does not appear to be very favorable for Bush-

I wonder if this news source is considered "conservative"...

15. FT is very conservative (the old kind, not the ninny-con kind).

13. Condi's reply (not deleted yet!)
Condi: "I'll be perfectly honest, I think we had in the first phase and maybe even a few weeks after the end of major military operations, some problems of co-ordination . . . We learned that we had some problems of information flow, that things were not working as smoothly as they might have."

If she were perfectly honest she would say: "To be perfectly honest we talked George into this adventure so we could snatch the oil but we really, really screwed up our plan for the reconstruction. In fact we never had a plan, it was more of a faith-based thing".

14. So Condi Rice thought that Jay Garner was a poor choice...
Ms Rice's comments seem to confirm that the White House was dissatisfied with the operation run by retired General Jay Garner in the aftermath of the combat operations in Iraq. Mr Garner was replaced by Paul Bremer, now head of the Coalition Provisional Authority.

It was Paul Bremer, and not Jay Garner, who arbitrarily fired all 400,000 members of Iraq's army, a colossal blunder for which we are paying in blood today.

16. not only that..
but when they rehired them they cut off all money to the Kurdish Peshmurga who actually fought on our side while putting the old regime soldiers on the payroll.

It would be funny how criminally stupid this whole operation is if it wasn't such deadly business.

17. All righty then. A war, 16 words and 9.11 (oops, that's an accomplishment
So, is anyone going to take any fall for these "mistakes" or are we supposed to say: "Don't worry! You're fabulous!"?
The Emily Latella administration strikes again!
