Powell Had the Title but Lacked Clout With Bush Compared to Colleagues

The secretary of state often is described as the president's principal foreign policy adviser, but the definition does not always match reality. Certainly not in the case of Colin Powell. Down to his final days in office, Powell has been by his own admission ideologically out of step with many of his senior-level colleagues in the Bush administration.

"I'm a little bit out of the mold you would expect," Powell told an interviewer last year. He acknowledged that he was more liberal than others on President Bush's foreign affairs team.

Just this week, Powell's deputy secretary, Richard Armitage, outlined a strategy that he and Powell have used, going public with dissenting views to influence administration policy.

"You don't want a government that sees everything the same way," Armitage told National Public Radio's "Morning Edition." "That would be bad - it would lead to bad government, in my view."

1. Powell sold his soul to the devil

His credibility is shot after he went before the UN and lied through his teeth. And continuously lied for his people. He can back peddle all he wants, but many people who once had great affection and respect for him (myself included) now despise the man and always will.

His credibility would have improved tremendously if he had resigned when he realized it was all bogus.

We don't need to rehash his moral cowardice vis-a-vis Vietnam or Iran Contra, or even his recent duplicity in enabling the atrocities in Iraq.

He was "Dark" in skincolour whasen't he? People on the "Internets" are saying Condi is not only "Bushco's" Mistress but she's actually "Jewish" as well. This is surely not true, is it? Are there "Jewish" people at every level of US government? We've been told that Jewish people only make up 2% of your whole population. So how come they not only run the "Media", "Gold & Diamond trade" etc,etc they also run your Government as well. I'm absolutely, absolutely, positive that they don't "run the Ozzie Govt" as well - No Way! There would be a Revolution in OZ if we were told that people running our Government were "Jewish"!!!
