VANCOUVER (AFP) - The first supervised heroin injection site in North America officially opened in this west coast Canadian city, with supporters saying it will likely help reduce drug overdose deaths.

5. Vancouver's mayor was a vocal supporter

of this when he was running for election last year. I don't live there, but he sounds like a decent and progressive guy. Former coroner.

I believe the AIDS infection rate there among IV drug users has been brought under control. If I recall correctly it is extremely low when compared even to other cities in the UK.

Drug addicts should be beaten and left lying in their own vomit in the street. Forced to rob ordinary citizens like you and me to pay for their habit so they'll end up in JAIL where they belong!
