Sgt. Jayton D. Patterson, 26, of Sedley, Va., died Jan. 15 as result of hostile action in Babil Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.
Cpl. Paul C. Holter III, 21, of Corpus Christi, Texas, died Jan. 14, due to a non-combat related incident at Camp Ramadi, Iraq. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
Sgt. Nathaniel T. Swindell, 24, of Bronx, N.Y., died Jan. 15 in Mosul, Iraq, from a non-combat related injury. Swindell was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, Fort Lewis, Wash.
