CRIME PAYS SAY TEENS - UK 4 in 10 of Britain's kids

TEENAGERS believe crime pays, it was revealed yesterday.

Forty per cent of youngsters across the country believe it is the way to easy money.

And in deprived inner cities 60 per cent agree.

The astonishing figures came on the day a teenage boy lay critically ill after being stabbed for his mobile phone.

A young mum was stabbed seven times on a crowded bus by a mugger after she chased him and grabbed back her handbag.

And a teenage girl told police how she was slashed with a knife and nearly drowned by a gang.

The survey by insurance giant Norwich Union showed teenagers reckon prison is the best deterrent to crime.

Only five per cent thought community service worked - and fines were backed by just one per cent.

2. 9 out of 10 of my 16yr old's school mates all say they would

take a pot shot at George Bush if they a) were in possession of an armed weapon and b) they saw him by chance in their street. Of these 9, 8 all bunked off school earlier this year to go on war protest marches in London and 4 were cautioned by police for playing truant and/or shouting vehement anti-Bush/Blair protests at any available tv camera.
The overwhelming concensus among his group of school friends seems to be that if it's ok to bomb Saddam and then completely fail to find any wmds, then waging war is merely state sponsored crime.
Two of my son's muslim friends who were horrified at Saddam's treatment of his own people said it only makes things worse if a non-Arab fighting force tries to oust a violent dictator.
None of my son's friends said they admired Tony Blair and all of them said "americans must be stupid to trust George Bush"
