Enormous tensions between Muslims and Christians in New Jersey surfaced earlier this week during the funeral for an Egyptian Christian family that was tied up and stabbed to death last Friday. As mourners took the streets of Jersey City to St. George & St. Shenouda Coptic Orthodox Church on Monday, grief and rage erupted as many blamed Muslims for the killings.
Last Friday, the bodies of Hossam Armanious, 47, his 37-year-old wife, Amal Garas, and their daughters, Sylvia, 15, and Monica, 8,were found bound and gagged, their throats and heads stabbed repeatedly.

Protesters carrying anti-Muslim signs and shouting anti-Islam slogans on Monday, as a procession of mourners made its way to St. George & St. Shenouda Coptic Orthodox Church—where the Armanious family was active in the church since immigrating to the United States in 1997 from Egypt.
The protests prompted several scuffles with mourners who rebuked them for having no respect for the dead or the grieving relatives, AP reported.
