Feds probe allegations of 'ghost units' in Alabama Boy Scouts
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. Boy Scout volunteer Tom Willis knew something was wrong when he saw 20 kids listed for a scouting program with the same last name -- Doe.

The ex-Eagle Scout who serves on the organization's board for northeast Alabama says it appeared someone was listing fake members to increase enrollment. That could have boosted funding from agencies, made paid Boy Scout recruiters look better, or both.

So federal prosecutors have subpoenaed records, and agents are investigating whether bogus boys and "ghost units" fill the rosters of Boy Scout groups throughout northeast Alabama.

The F-B-I refused comment on any review, but the Irving, Texas-based Boy Scouts of America this month confirms the Alabama council is under investigation.

1. They're not only crooked; they're stupid.
If you give all of your phantom Boy Scouts the same name, eventually you're going to get busted. Duh.

4. So, who was funding them?
Is this another example of why you can't trust Christian based organizations with public funding?
