WASHINGTON (Reuters)Lawmakers are expected to question the top U.S. stock market regulator in the coming days about New York Stock Exchange Chairman Richard Grasso's $140-million pay package, congressional aides said on Tuesday.
Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman William Donaldson is scheduled to testify before the House of Representatives Financial Services Committee on Wednesday and before the Senate Banking Committee on Sept. 30.
The Senate panel plans to cover a wide range of issues and the Grasso pay dispute is expected to come up, aides said.
"We would expect that issue to arise ... but it's not the focus of the hearing," said committee spokesman Andrew Gray. ---
