Bush Rating Below 50 Percent in Calif.

SAN FRANCISCO - For the first time since just before the Sept. 11 attacks, President Bush (news - web sites)'s approval rating in California has slipped below 50 percent, according to a Field Poll released Tuesday.

Just 46 percent of the 649 registered voters questioned by the Field Research Corp. in the Sept. 3-7 survey said they approve of Bush's performance. Forty-eight percent disapprove.

In an August poll, 50 percent of those questioned praised Bush's performance, while 45 percent were critical.

So he's below 50% for all categories except for this one. I
sure hope we DON'T have another major attack in the U.S. (or,
homeland, as the nazi would call it). But it IS interesting
that a) that is the only category he gets a majority approval
rating, and b) it is the one category he has the LEAST control
over!
