Pinochet's defense files complaint against judge

SANTIAGO, Jan. 26 (Xinhuanet) -- The defense of former Chilean leader Augusto Pinochet on Wednesday filed a complaint against judge Sergio Munoz over his qualification as a judge in charge of the case of Pinochet's secret accounts in a US bank.

In the complaint, the defense said Munoz has expressed his opinion on whether to remove the immunity of Pinochet and therefore disqualified as a judge to rule on the general's future.

This petition has to be addressed by the Court of Appeals in a voting. If the Pinochet defense's move succeeds, Munoz would not be able to continue with the case.
