A Peoria man was being held Wednesday in connection with the killings of at least eight women--with some of them, investigators said, incinerated in the suspect's back yard.
Larry Bright, 38, is expected to be charged Thursday in Peoria County Criminal Court with the killing of Linda Kay Neal, officials said Wednesday at a news conference in Peoria. Bright has also been linked to at least seven other killings dating to 2001, authorities said.
Prosecutors have not yet charged Bright with all the killings because some of the bodies were so badly burned they are hard to identify, Peoria County Sheriff Michael McCoy said. Bright has helped authorities search for the remains, McCoy said.
