Myers: U.S. Reassessing Balkan Troop Commitment (Translation:...
We're running out of troops in Iraq)

PRISTINA, Serbia and Montenegro (Reuters) - Top U.S. military officer Richard Myers said Wednesday that U.S. peacekeeping troops in the Balkans would not be pulled out unilaterally from Kosovo or Bosnia.

But Myers, in Kosovo to visit U.S. troops, said the United States was reassessing its involvement with an option "on the table" for a European force to take over.

With the U.S. military stretched thin, the Air Force General and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said the Pentagon (news - web sites) was reviewing commitments including the Balkans.

1. The cost of empire is a bitch
Meyers knows he needs troops . Look for a Draft (they won't call it that, it will be called a national service commitment) to start if the CHIMPANZEE is elected in 2004.

The national service commitment will allow for conscientious objectors to handle bed pans in the nursing home prison system the Chimp needs to lock up all the old drug dealers and pot smokers serving their life sentences.

2. I don't think they can hold out until after
the election, the boy king* is losing ground every day, they're looking every which way to get more soldiers for the meat grinder withyout a draft.
This gang though isn't known for brainpower, an esculation of attacks in Iraq, will cause such a drain that there won't be any other way of finding troops.

4. I agree, and reprobate, I wish you were right, but the neo-cons...
have been planning this for so long, they won't let go. They MUST neutralize the Muslim countries for Israel's sake, so they can partake of the rapture. No, we'll get a draft or do whatever it takes, but they need the oil, and the Muslims have to be marginalized, if not obliterated.

3. I have the strong feeling that out troops will be out of iraq .......

....before next november. Popularity of this war is falling fast and his approval numbers are diving right along with them.

With many in congress hesitating to approve the 87 billion he wants now, and with the blood fued the iraqis have declared against our troops, I think it won't be all that long before he's forced to 'declare victory', turn the whole thing over to the UN, and bring the troops home.

And that will be the end of the bush administration. No amount of spin will turn this around.
