Deficit, Iraq May Be Issues in '04 Race - Yahoo News

<http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=512&ncid=703&e=3&u=/ap/20030917/ap_on_go_co/iraq_deficit>

snip> "WASHINGTON - Members of both parties say record federal deficits are showing signs of evolving into a powerful political issue, fed by voter concern over the size of President Bush (news - web sites)'s $87 billion request for Iraq (news - web sites). "

snip> "Until now, voters have paid little attention as four consecutive years of budget surpluses abruptly morphed into shortfalls now expected to soar beyond $400 billion this year and next. Public attention instead has been focused on the economy, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan (news - web sites) and the threat of terrorism.

"Now, however, people seem to be paying attention. Members of Congress returning home say they are hearing about deficits and Iraq spending from constituents, and recent polls show a growing discontent with Bush's handling of the economy and the budget. "

Are the sheeple slowing waking up??

4. There may be a distraction
These "may" be issues unless the chimp cabal manages to create or usher in another major terrorist attack right on time. Fear is their best friend.

5. Gotta love that headline: "MAY BE ISSUES"?
What the FUCK is that supposed to mean? Is it a warning for the slow witted? Is it permission for the subject to come up in the campaigns? WHAT?

I am getting really sick of our freeper press.
