Questions Persist About Ohio Reservist's Death

Members of U.S. Army Reserve’s 660th Transportation Company and their families question whether the Ohio-based unit had adequate safety equipment.



Four members of the unit deployed from Cadiz and Zanesville have died since going to Iraq last year.



Some members of the 660th want Congress to look into the death of one of their comrades. Several of them say they felt morally bound to send a letter to Ohio's congressional delegation asking for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Staff Sgt. Donald Davis' death in Iraq.



SSgt. Davis died when his 7,500-gallon fuel tanker went off the steep side of a dusty road near Fallujah last August. It's the only detail of this tragedy upon which everyone agrees.

But he was from here in Saginaw, this city's first (and, thankfully, so far only) fatality. I know members of his family in passing. And his death is a big, big news story here.
