The Russians are coming
The FBI is concerned about Moscow's growing number of spies
By TIMOTHY J. BURGER; BRIAN BENNETT
Monday, January 31, 2005 Posted: 5:26 PM EST (2226 GMT)

At Los Angeles International Airport two weeks ago, FBI agents arrested an Irish businessman they had spent a week tailing all over California's Silicon Valley, from the offices of two electronics manufacturers in Sunnyvale to a hotel in Mountain View and down a quiet cul-de-sac to a suburban house in San Jose.

The technology exporter, according to court papers, had purchased sophisticated computer components in the U.S. to send to Russia through Ireland. He now stands to be charged in mid-February with "unlawful export of 'defense articles.'"

U.S. officials point to this little-noticed case as one manifestation of a troubling reality: although the cold war is long over, Russia is fielding an army of spooks in the U.S. that is at least equal in number to the one deployed by the old, much larger Soviet Union.

Russia runs more than 100 known spies under official cover in the U.S., senior U.S. intelligence and law-enforcement officials say. And those are just the more easily spotted spies working under the classic guise of diplomat.

1. They've always been more resourceful.....
than good ole USA. They're just taking out insurance in case USA keeps up with these insane policies, especially militarily. I think the Russians kind of like us bankupting outselves.

2. That's bullshit.
What about the documented Israeli spies? Diversion. Better Dead than Red. This country is ripe for that kind of crap.

3. Not to worry
bush said he looked in "Pooty Poot's" (bush's nick name for Putin) eyes and saw his soul... and they are buds - so no problem there... and for corporate cronies - bush will take care of you so don't worry about corporate espionage...

11. Don't worry, Smirko! All they want is our jobs, not our oil.
Poppy served as the Welcome Wagon for the Gehlen Org. Odd, wot?

The NAZIs who came over after World War II were themselves infiltrated by the Commies. So, all the nice things Dulles and the rest of the Wall Street spooks told them as they worked to destroy Moscow really was used to destroy Washington.

It's no surprise Pootie Toot wants our technology. He needs it, just to tread water at home.

What does Bush care? Heck if all our jobs go overseas, that just makes enslaving America that much easier.

Bottom line: It may be worse than the NAZIs winning World War II. It seems the worst of the world's three main criminal classes -- the wealth of kings, the NAZIs and the Communists -- all are embodied in the form of the current Pretzeldent. Bummer.
