Labor set to endorse DNC chair pick
http://www.cnn.com/2005/ALLPOLITICS/02/01/democrats.chair.ap/index.html

With Howard Dean rapidly gaining momentum in his bid to become national Democratic Party chairman, the spotlight is turning toward organized labor.

About two-dozen members of the AFL-CIO's executive committee were set to meet Tuesday morning to discuss whether to endorse a candidate.

Some Democrats who closely watch labor say they doubted labor would unite behind a Dean alternative with the front-runner surging ahead and labor facing its own internal power struggle.

1. If Dean gets this one, it's all over
None of the other candidates are getting the same momentum as Dean.

4. Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but
if he gets this, does that mean he cannot run for pres. in '08 (assuming he would even want to run again)?

7. no endorsement from the AFL-CIO for anyone
which is good. They have been throwing time and money behind
candidates who vote for NAFTA and aren't doing anything for
the middle class or labor for awhile.

About time they just said nothing when they don't have a candidate
who is really for them.
