Jesse Jackson joins effort to help free contractor held hostage in Iraq
CORONA, Calif. - The Rev. Jesse Jackson is using his diplomatic skills to help a Corona woman whose ex-husband was kidnapped in Baghdad three months ago and recently appeared in a video pleading for his life at gunpoint.

Susan Hallums, 52, turned to Jackson after calling on politicians and President Bush to help free her ex-husband, 56-year-old Roy Hallums, who was kidnapped at his company office along with another man on Nov. 1 in Baghdad. <snip>

Jackson, who has successfully secured the release of hostages on several occasions since the 1980s, said he was confident that the captors would cooperate.

"We hope that the captors will pick up on the spirit of what has happened the last few days in Iraq and not use Roy as a trophy," Jackson said, referring to the Iraq elections held Sunday. "While our government can't negotiate, someone who can ought to." <snip>

1. Jackson is good at this kind of stuff
The Bush Administration should get out of the way and let a professional take charge.

3. He'll be home for the Super Bowl.
I don't know what it is that he does, but Jesse always seems to succeed when he does this. God bless him and I hope he is once again successful.

13. My first welcome . . .
. . . thanks, Auntie Bush!

P.S. Comment about Cody was tongue-in-cheek.

5. Isn't it amazing...
How much good Rev. Jesse Jackson has done for all of us, not just here but around the world. It's just amazing - this man, whom would probably make a great President can get more positive things done throughout the world, than the Chimp in Charge.

Amazing. I commend Rev. Jackson and am glad to see his son in a much deserved position, as well. A true hero.

I bet that son of a bitch didn't lift a finger to help this poor woman. In one ear and out the other.
