U.S. promises release of defence equipment: Pakistan
ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - The United States has promised Pakistan, an important ally in the U.S.-led war on terror, that it will help it acquire U.S. military equipment quickly, Pakistan said on Tuesday.

Pakistan's Ministry of Defence Production did not give details of the U.S. equipment it was seeking but the Pentagon (news - web sites) in November notified the U.S. Congress of three proposed arms sales to Pakistan worth $1.2 billion.

"The U.S. delegation noted the defence requirements of Pakistan and promised to actively pursue the early release of the defence requirements of Pakistan," the ministry said, referring to preparatory talks ahead of a meeting of the countries' Defence Consultative Group Forum.

U.S. Under Secretary for Defence Douglas Feith is arriving in Pakistan on Wednesday for that meeting in the city of Rawalpindi on Thursday.

1. India will love hearing this; but when Pakistan turns on America, at least
they'll be killing us with our own weapons, and not some furrener crap.

Pinochet.

Stalin.

Hitler.

Ho Chi Minh.

Saddam Hussein.

Osama bin Laden.

Taleban.

Etc.

America just never learns.

... oh wait. D'oh!

Pakistan is going to be a case of serious nykular blowback in the near future... in retrospect it will look obvious, and pundits will pretend they saw the threat of Pervez a long time ago.

Red flags aplenty:

dictator. coup. no elections. nuclear weapons ring. Al-Qaeda connections. ISI funny business with Atta.

4. So we sell out our ally India?
This is a shrewd tactical move in the political arena... :silly:

Further evidence to lend credence to my theory that all of our wars are U.S. funded theatrical productions...
