Israel’s top general in Turkey
Yaalon’s visit comes at the same time as Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas is in Ankara for talks.

...

Immediately after his arrival in Ankara, General Moshe Yaalon met with the Chief of the Turkish General Staff, General Hilmi Ozkok, though no details of their discussions were made public.
On Wednesday, General Yaalon is scheduled to meet with Turkish Defence Minister Vecdi Gonul and President Ahmet Necdet Sezer.
Among the topics expected to be covered is the proposal that Israel upgrade Turkey’s F-4 Phantom fighter aircraft and other joint defence agreements worth an estimated $1.5 billion.
Turkey and Israel have had defence co-operation agreements since the mid 1990s, with Israeli firms having won contracts for the upgrade of a number of Turkish defence systems.

1. Whose idea was that?
I mean, I'm sure it's a deep evil Jewish plot, but could we consider that the Turks asked both to show up at the same time? Since Turkey does not HAVE to buy arms from Israel, and the Palestinians don't have a damn thing to sell (well, unless they're liquidating Yasser's portfolio), is it possible that the Turks will pressure Israel to grant advantages to the Palestinians to make the arms sale?

Just an alternative you might want to consider.

3. Maybe bargaining about the attack on Iran.
"Ok, if you give us a pass, we can do this for you..."
