2. So you think President Clinton should be shown more respect . . .
from the Republicans then them blaming him for everything that they do wrong?

Welcome to DU Bill. Sorry, but we Dems don't really get into that Conservative kinky stuff you like. Well, I cannot speak for everyone (geez, I'm acting like Richard Geer), but my hubby and myself keep that matter in our life private. (reminder to self, need to pick up some love cuffs for friend). . . lol

4. Yes, its about time we put Jimmy Carter
on Mt Rushmore. What do you think Bill? A Nobel Peace Prize Winner. Maybe we can have a monument of Reagan complete with suit and tie as he is ordering the murder of priests and nuns and children in central america from the oval office. Did I forget to mention he would be in suit and tie. How about a reagan tribute to the ketchup package? And the ever living trickle down economics - higher state and local taxes. Yes bill lets be nice to all former presidents. And don't forget eight years of peace and prosperity bill.

5. Ronald Reagan was just one step away from a cartoon character
Edited on Thu Feb-03-05 04:25 PM by 0007
He gets as much respect from me as junior.

Fuck Ronald Reagan

8. What did you like most about Reagan, Bill?
Trillions of dollars of debt for our children?

Support of Islamic militants and Saddam Hussein?

Destruction of labor unions, environmental protections, and corporate oversight?

I mean, there's so much to choose from! What's your favorite?

11. Bill,
don't you even know how to spell your own name?

Where's the apostrophe? (Or did you use it to rub all over someone's private parts?)

9. "Sen. John Marty, a Roseville Democrat..."
...mentioned in the article, is one of the exception-to-the-rule politicians who is ethical, progressive, caring, smart, and effective.

There should be more like him. He's one in a line of MN pols that goes way back and includes Frasier, Humphrey, McCarthy, Wellstone, etc.

His liberal/progressive chops are impeccable AND he's unashamedly Christian--in fact, the son of a much-revered Lutheran theologian. I wish the MN DFL would tap him for advancement one of these days. He'd make a stellar Goob or Atty Gen.

Or send him to Washington to replace Norm the Weasel.

Y'all listening, Minnesotans?

hopefully,

Bright

10. He ran for governor in 1994.
He got clobbered by a very popular moderate (some would say liberal) Republican, Arne Carlson.

13. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
No, really....

Arne Carlson... MODERATE!!!

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

Oh, please... stop... it hurts!

Ol' Snake-eyes?? MODERATE?

ONLY in comparison with the fundie nutjob running agin' him in the primary, take my word for it.

Arne had incumbency on his side, John was young yet, and the MN DFL was at approximately its lowest ebb. And the MN GOPpies hadn't yet pulled any doofus crap like forcing Churches to allow guns in their parking lots, running up deficits of Biblical proportions and so forth.

Give him another chance.

And say hi to ol' Snake-eyes for me. Bet he's still pissed... For a Scandihoovian, he sure has a helluva case of Irish Alzheimers'-- forgets everything but the grudges.

Ol' Snake-eyes... moderate.... heeheeheehee...

mirthfully,
Bright

15. Calm yourself down, then listen.
Is there any leading Minnesota Republican right now who, when put up next to Arne, would NOT make Arne look moderate?

Arne was pro-choice, and still respected the Minnesota tradition of everyone helping to support our high standard of living.

I voted for Marty in '94 because he was a lot closer to my values.

But please, don't go nutso because I suggest Arne was a moderate.

16. Okay, okay, point taken....
>>Is there any leading Minnesota Republican right now who, when put up next to Arne, would NOT make Arne look moderate?<<

...awright, I'll give you that one. Hell, Randy Kelly makes him look moderate.

But still... on ANY objective scale, the notion of ol' Snake-eyes being considered "moderate" gives me the giggles something fierce.

Still, you've (sorta) proved my point. There ain't any "leading Minnesota Republicans" right now who could run against John as "moderates."

So, maybe time to give him another chance, hmmmmmmmm?

hopefully,
Bright

18. Oh I would vote for Marty again in a heartbeat.
I think he would make a great candidate. I just don't know if the bulk of Minnesota voters would be willing to give him another shot, you know? They can be pretty fickle.

14. I do like the sound of that..."unashamedly christian"
so it's their turn to be stigmatized? This 'admitted homosexual' and 'unapologetic liberal' is pleased.

THen we can decide if we want to read more or not.
