South Korean navy warns North Korea over sea border dispute

SEOUL (AFP) - South Korea (news - web sites)'s navy warned North Korea (news - web sites) that it is ready to repel any "militarily provocative" acts in disputed waters claimed by both Koreas.

The warning came Saturday after the North Korean navy said a South Korean battleship had intruded into its waters early Friday and warned such actions could provoke "unpredictable consequences."

"We consider this statement as tantamount to a militarily provocative act. We warn the North that we are fully prepared to sternly cope with any provocative acts," the South Korean navy said in a statement.

White Paper, then N Korea threatening a "sea of fire". Meanwhile, * continues to harp on Iran and the ME. Bit pre-occuppied I guess.

My buddy is US Air FOrce and watched the South Korean army kill several boats filled with spies in the sea right off an air force base flightline. Didn't even make the news - no survivors
