US puts Bin Laden bounty ad in Urdu daily
PESHAWAR: The United States placed a newspaper advertisement yesterday offering rewards of millions of dollars for information leading to the arrest of Osama bin Laden and other Al Qaeda kingpins.

The half-page ad in the Urdu daily Mashriq, published in the Pakistani city of Peshawar, near the Afghan border, puts a $25m price on the head of the 9/11 mastermind and his deputy Ayman Al Zawahiri.

Featuring black and white mugshots of the wanted men, it also offers $10m for Mullah Omar, the reclusive one-eyed chief of Afghanistan’s ousted Taleban militia.

The ad is the second in a campaign by the US embassy in Pakistan, a key US ally, to promote Washington’s “Rewards for Justice” programme.

1. They just did this now?
You mean they hadn't done this in the area bin Laden was suspected to be in for the last 4 years?

If they had, why is this a news article now? If they hadn't, why the heck not?

Oh, I see. This is the SECOND ad. Two in four years. The business I work at placed more ads than that when hiring a new janitor.

2. The people its targeting wont believe them
They will need photos of other "lottery" winners giving testimonials or the like. Otherwise its a waste of time.
