Iran prepared if attacked
IRAN would both retaliate and accelerate its drive to master nuclear technology if the US or Israel attacked its atomic facilities, Iran's chief nuclear negotiator warned today.

Hassan Rohani, secretary-general of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, also told Reuters there was nothing the West could offer Tehran that would persuade it to scrap a nuclear program which Washington fears may be used to make bombs.

Asked about a possible attack by the United States or Israel, which have both said a nuclear-armed Iran would be unacceptable, Rohani said: "If such an attack (against Iran's atomic facilities) takes place then of course we will retaliate and we will definitely accelerate our activities to complete our (nuclear) fuel cycle." Speaking in a rare interview, Rohani said Iran's ability to produce its own nuclear parts had made it "invulnerable" to attack since it could simply rebuild whatever was destroyed.

"But I do not think the United States itself will take such a risk ... They know our capabilities for retaliating against such attacks," the mid-ranking cleric added. Iran has ballistic missiles which can hit Israel and US bases in the Gulf and has vowed to retaliate strongly should either country try to repeat Israel's 1981 successful bombing of Iraq's Osirak nuclear reactor.

7. Oooh - that would be soooo sweet!!!
If anything positive could come out of a conflict with Iran, it would be the release of irrefutable proof of the 1980 October Surprise and Poppy's involvement in the operation.

3. Well that's just peachy!!!
Let's just piss off a country that has no compunction about using a nuclear weapon.

When will these Decepta-cons realize that you can't bully another country into complying to their wishes. Iran has a big enough army to kick our butts right now. Our armed services have been battered and bruised over the last two years and would be totaled in a fight with them.

And of course, once again, we want to attack a country that hasn't done anything to us. Please wake up America!

:argh:

4. Iran also has missiles that can strike Israel
Only an Apocalyptic fool would launch an attack on Iran. Iran's retaliation will be justified and inevitable. What will we do then, nuke Iran? What would happen if we nuke Iran? Will Osama bin Laden become the world's hero when he nukes the US in retaliation for the nuking of Iran? When will this madness end?

5. You bring up a salient point... "Apocalyptic fools."
We have people in charge that are drooling for the "rapture." These motherfuckers want to make sure it happens ASAP.

6. Anyone else long for the days of the cold war?
Containment seems an elusive strategy, when half of the middle east is now holding nukes.

12. That's what I'm thinking...
the end of the world as we know it indeed!
These crazy people have GOT to be stopped!

Side story for you about Lenny Bruce:
When my daughter was three, we lived in an
apartment above Sally Marr, Lenny's mom, in Hollywood.
She made a doll for my daughter, who she adored.
It was the SCARIEST fucking clown doll I have ever seen.
Explained a lot about Lenny.LOL!
Seriously though, Sally was a really sweet lady and
adored her son- she had a shrine to him in her apartment
and told us great stories about him. She was a HELLION
to the day she died- she had more boyfriends than the young
women I knew, and went out partying every night with a different guy.
Hope my life is that vibrant when I am that age...

15. Too cool...name it "Lenny"
Seriously I wish I knew how to post a picture of this doll-
We bring it out from time to time to show friends and the
reaction is ALWAYS the same- absolute HORROR!
It really is that disturbing.

We play a game with it when family members are
here for holidays- we hide it in peoples beds, the shower,
the dining room table or place it to fall out of
a closet- GREAT fun to hear them shriek when it appears
unexpectedly...sick I know, but great fun.
The doll has become a legend around here.

9. Iran challenges US over nuclear programme

By Alec Russell in Washington
(Filed: 07/02/2005)

Iran dared America to attack it yesterday as the senior hawks in President George W Bush's administration all but admitted that Washington faced a dilemma in trying to prevent Teheran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

In a rare interview, Dick Cheney, the vice-president, stressed repeatedly that Washington was backing a European diplomatic initiative to persuade Teheran to freeze permanently its nuclear ambitions - even though it is Washington's worst-kept secret that the administration believes the attempt is doomed to fail.

" know very well that we do not want them to acquire nuclear weapons, nor does the civilised world," Mr Cheney told Fox News. "I can't think of anybody who is eager to see the Iranians develop that kind of capability. Now, we are moving to support efforts to resolve it diplomatically."

America had not "eliminated any alternative", he said, an apparent threat of military action whose obliqueness reflected the deep uncertainty in the US capital over its policy towards Iran.

10. Classic quote from Big Dick Cheney....
"I know very well that we do not want them to acquire nuclear weapons, nor does the civilised world," Mr Cheney told Fox News.

Yeah, that says a lot coming from Satan himself.
