U.S. draft law designates PLO officials as “terrorists”

A U.S. draft law, introduced on January 26, 2005, states that any foreigner representing the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) would be treated as a “terrorist”.

The bill states that: "An alien who is an officer, official, representative or spokesman of the Palestine Liberation Organization is considered, for purposes of this Act, to be engaged in a terrorist activity."

If adopted, the law would kill the hopes for the peace process in the Middle East.

The bill was introduced by House Judiciary Committee Chairman F. James Sensenbrenner's (R-WI). It includes some provisions that were considered too controversial and was removed from last year's intelligence reform bill.

Is my memory serving me correct that it is divided into a political, charitable, and militant branch? Or maybe I'm thinking of Hamas?
