Pataki political guru starts 'Stop Her Now' PAC vs. Hill
http://www.nydailynews.com/front/breaking_news/story/278634p-238727c.html

Conservative Republican strategist Arthur Finkelstein, a political guru to Gov. Pataki, is starting an anti-Hillary Rodham Clinton, “Stop Her Now” political action committee, a fellow GOP operative said Monday.

A top Clinton adviser said the move was evidence Republicans plan “a negative campaign of lies and distortions” against the former first lady in her 2006 bid for re-election to the Senate.

The GOP operative, who is familiar with Finkelstein’s plans but spoke only on condition of anonymity, said the “Stop Her Now” offensive would be aimed at defeating Clinton in 2006 as a means of thwarting any move by her to run for the White House in 2008.

New York magazine, which first reported Finkelstein’s plans on Monday, said the Pataki adviser hoped to raise more than $10 million for the effort.

1. They're so scared of her.
I love it. Big bad scary Republican men scared of Hillary. All they can do is spread lies and rumours about her like a bunch of school bullies. What sad little men they are.

2. Yeah but
those machines worry me. It's all in the counting, and the rethugs are getting quite good at it. Otherwise, they don't have a chance in hell of beating her in the senate.

3. Yeah, well, if we don't respond it will work.
The SwiftLiar ads were a bunch of crap, but they worked because nobody responded quickly.

11. nah
But I don't like Hillary one bit. "Where do I send money" was just my cynical NY humor. NY is one of the most progressive states in the union. To have a pro-war DINO/DLC type in one of our two precious senate seats bothers me no end. Since we are the minority right now, I'd like to see the party circle its wagons around our core beliefs of equality and fairness and expand from there. War-mongering just doesn't fit in and neither does Hillary IMNSHO.

Also, NY's senate seats should not be some sort of "World seat" where people who can't win in their own state can come here and use one of ours. If she's so wonderful, let her goto her home state and turn it blue for us. I'm my eyes she is an opportunist who turned her husband's political clout into a senate seat and no more. Now she is turning her back on many of the party's core values to advance her chances for more political gain. If anyone runs against her in the primary they will have my full support.

9. Poll shows Pataki losing both governor and Senate races
Poll: Pataki doesn't look good for fourth term, or Senate

http://tinyurl.com/3qx5b

Republican Gov. George Pataki's chances for winning a fourth term
against potential Democratic candidate Eliot Spitzer don't look good,
according to a statewide poll of registered voters released Monday.

Pataki would do even worse if he tries to unseat Sen. Hillary Rodham
Clinton, the poll from the Siena College Research Institute found.

10. NYState Legislature was supposed to approve new voting machines today
proprietary software/ 2% audits on short notice- fast track legislation it seems. Was supposed to go right from committee onto the floor. Even though majority is Democrat doesn't mean they are knowledgeable about drawbacks of these "modern" machines. THIS is how Repugs will guarantee their win- and maybe even succeed in some "shifting" voting patterns...
