Rice Tells Europe to Move Past Conflicts
PARIS - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told European intellectuals Tuesday "it is time to turn away from the disagreements of the past" that stem from the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

Rice was giving an address on U.S. foreign policy in Europe, Iraq, the Middle East, and elsewhere to an audience of French student and intellectuals. She chose Paris because France is a seat of recent criticism of U.S.-led war in Iraq and of President Bush's diplomacy in general.

In excerpts from her upcoming address at Paris's Science Politique, Rice said: "America stands ready to work with Europe on our common agenda and Europe must stand ready to work with America."

"After all, history will surely judge us not by our old disagreements, but by our new achievements," she said.

8. "Old Europe" has made it clear they will not cooperate ...
with Bush's plan for a new world order.

They saw exactly how much respect the Bush cabal has for them in the run up to war.

Europe loves the American people, at least those of us who respect and love them. Europe understands we are going through a dangerous time right now and they hope we can fix our own problems. But if need be, they will team up with Russia and China and destroy us economically, if that is necessary to bring down the corrupt regime.

Condi doesn't have a clue and will be remembered as the least-respected and least-qualified SOS in history.

70. Well, it might not be a language of the European Union,
but in Norwegian it would be something like, 'gå kn*ll deg selv' if you'll pardon my language.

Unfortunately, it's very unlikely the Norwegian government would say something like that, firstly because it's a conservative coalition led by a priest from the Christian People's Party, and secondly, because the Foreign Minister, from the CPP's main partner, the Right party, gets, to be very crude and vulgar and with a warning here for unsavory language, a h*rd-on whenever Bush talks foreign policy, and our Defense Minister spreads her legs whenever asked. I'm sorry to be so crude, but it's the truth.

Of course, they're heading for a major loss come September and general elections, and in the meantime, I can say it for them. "Gå kn*ll deg selv, Condi!"

In questioning the perennial prevaricator Condoleezza
Rice, Minnesota Senator Mark Dayton found it impossible
to keep up the pretensions of the upper chamber.  "I don't
like impugning anyone's integrity, but I really don't like being
lied to," Dayton said. "Repeatedly, flagrantly,
intentionally."

http://www.blackcommentator.com/123/123_cover_rice.html

Emperor George is about to lose the American empire and
Iraq its crown (oil) jewel. Be careful of what you wish
for.

The US is now cutting back social programs at home to pay
for war and its useless military bases around the
world. Eventually, the painful task will fall to Condi after no
more social programs can be cut and the useless bases
around the globe will have to dismantled and sold for
scrap metal to prevent an already impoverished America
from slipping further into
poverty.

The base closings should be announced
soon.

See: Mothballing CVS JFK and Florida's reaction
for details.

Condi has arrived just in time, desperately trying to save
an imploding empire of useless military bases and
a Ponzi-dollar-pyramid scheme that cannot be sustained.

Rice said the United States and Europe should move beyond "a partnership based on common threats" and focus instead on a partnership based upon "common opportunities, beyond the trans-Atlantic community."

That sounds as if she's saying there's no point in NATO now. Would that be a good thing?

Seriously, this administration is unbelievable...they just don't get it. They still don't understand that, despite the "New democracy" in Iraq we invaded and are occupying a country for no good reasons. (Reasons that have been true, anyway.)

Bush: Congress Must Spend Budget Wisely

February 08, 2005 3:15 PM EST

DETROIT - President Bush said Tuesday that Congress must bring discipline to the federal budget and cut failing or unnecessary programs even if they have laudable goals.

"It is essential that those who spend the money in Washington adhere to this principle - a taxpayer dollar ought to be spent wisely or not spent at all," Bush told the Detroit Economic Club.

I have no idea why Europe should bother 'moving on'. The petulant little boy running the country has pretty much told them to fuck off on Iraq, the ABM treaty, Israel, Kyoto, and Guantanamo. Then he has the audacity to let his staff and fellow Republican hacks run around calling France and Germany names for two years. Never once during that time did he take the high road and urge his fellows to get over it and be diplomatic.

Frankly, I have no idea what Europe has to gain by re-engaging with the US.

To have Rice tell them that differences about the Iraq invasion are somehow "old disagreements". Two years and they already want to treat it as ancient history. In Europe (and the middle east) you don't just wish away history with a wave of your hand.

Rice & co still plan to cut the achillies tendon of the UN. Perhaps Europe has feelings on that? Perhaps they have feelings on this new conservatism based on Disraeli - this "Patriot the Patsy" Conservatism. Where you tie people together in a "tight bundle of wood" (which is where the term fascism comes from) based on nationalistic tendencies.

Now why would the Europeans have some fears about Nationalism? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ....

I'm thinking that for "security reasons" it may not be a good idea for any Western nation to accept "visits" by representatives of the Bush White House.

You wouldn't want a bomb to go off or something. That is what I would say if they tried to come to my house!!

And the sad thing is that for many Republicans - the fact that Rice is encouraging peace in the Middle East - will look to them like she had a hand in it.

This is simply 'new policy' for republicans and old policy for Democrats - to encourage democracy nomatter who ends up running the show - the fact that the practice of democracy takes place is more important than who gets into power for 8 years.

Iran, Iraq are only two of the countries whose democracies the right wing US has interfered in.

Drive me nuts!!

69. My first thought when I heard this was
maybe the healing will start as soon as *dumbass' and HIS 'murika apologize for the slights, insults, and ridicule heaped upon the French when they refused to participate in an ILLEGAL WAR. Oh, I forgot, apologies are not in this misadministrations operating manual. They don't do ANYTHING to apologize for! Silly me.

71. No they do not apologize since they never do anything
No they do not apologize since they never do anything on paper or on camera. The whole point of being invisible is that nothing sticks. Because there is no 'record' you just march on - as if whatever the complaint never took place.

Bunch of lying Monsters.
