ELECTION RESULTS POSTPONED, VIOLENCE THROUGHOUT COUNTRY

The final results of the 30 January elections will not be released on 10 February as expected, an electoral commission official has said. The same source did not say when the results would be announced. Meanwhile, Abdul Hussein Khazal, a journalist for the US-based broadcaster ‘Al Hurra’, was assassinated while leaving his home in Basra in southern Iraq this morning. ‘Al Hurra’ is considered a pro-American competitor of ‘Al Jazeera’. Gunmen abducted Colonel Riyadh katei Aliwi, a top interior ministry official, in the capital Baghdad, while in Samara, north of the capital, four agents died and two more were injured when their vehicles were hit by an explosion. US forces have said they killed a man found placing a rudimentary bomb on a road near Balad, a town 70 kilometres north of the capital;

...MISNA? I am not sure about this source.

on edit: a little information on Misna (a missionary news source!)...

<snip>
That's why, in December, 1997, FESMI (the Federation of Italian Missionary Press) and SERMIS (the Italian Missionary Service), in collaboration with the rest of the missionary world, gave life to MISNA (the Missionary Service News Agency), a news service specializing in the world's South. An experimental idea that took off with just one computer connected to the Internet, it quickly became a key source of news for many international news agencies and television networks. The secret to MISNA'S success is its relationship with thousands of missionaries and volunteers spread throughout Africa, Asia, Latin America and Oceania. They are privileged sources that witness with their own eyes the service of the truth of the Gospel. They are the starting points of an alternative information network, outside easy Western schematics and the logic of power that conditions the interpretation of reality and far from the catastrophism and sensationalism that are part of the everyday world of information. They dedicate their existences to giving voice to the voiceless. MISNA is still young and has a long road ahead. For the moment, the agency is made up of six lay and two religious journalists who offer news in three languages (English, French and Italian). The objective of the agency is to grow, backed by the Missionary Church, to serve the cause of man in the image of God.

5. Expect this to be widely reported by the Murkin Whore Media.
You know, the same Borg that refuses to acknowledge that the US "election" might well have been rigged.

9. AP link : Final Iraqi Election Results Said Delayed
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraqi officials said Wednesday that the announcement of final results from landmark national elections will be delayed because the election commission must recount votes from about 300 ballot boxes.

Amid spiralling post-vote violence, gunmen killed an Iraqi journalist working for a U.S.-funded television station and his son as they left their home Wednesday in the southern city of Basra, an official said.

Final results from the Jan. 30 election were to be announced on Thursday. But spokesman Farid Ayar said the deadline would slip due to the need for a recount.

"We don't know when this will finish," he said. "This will lead to a little postponement in announcing the results."

10. I predicted the 'Ukrainization' scenario
a few days ago in response to a story about an electoral protest in Baghdad.

This was so predictable even Ray Charles could see it coming and he's not only blind, but now he's also dead.

Frankly, I was a little surprised at the early returns leaking out showing Sistani's slate winning in a landslide. I thought the Pentagon and the Green Zoners had a better lockdown on info coming out of there than that.

Because I know for a fact that only a handful of Sunnah's voted.

13. oh this is un-freakin real.
anytime I give these criminals even the slightest benefit of the doubt that they were going to let the chips fall where they may in this election and really let the iraqi people govern themselves, they pull this covert BS and dash all my hopes aainst the rocks. The world has been bought and stolen. If I were Sistani I wouldn't leave my bunker anytime soon. same for Allawi when they install him. I don't think the Iraqis will go gently into that dark night as easily as they made half of America. GWB will have his reason for the US Army to be in Iraq forever. A bloody civil war that "threatens to destabilize the region"

Puppet army invites Iraqi Army veterans to serve America.

Major general Rashid ‘Ali of the puppet chiefs of staff told
the press conference that pay would be attractive and
sufficient and that the Iraqi troops would be compensated
for material and mental losses suffered during this
period.

General Rashid ‘Ali said that the reason for the decision to
let Iraqi Army troops into the puppet forces was that
“ the members of the former army have expertise not enjoyed
by the modern army.” He said that the troops would be
deployed in places from which the invader soldiers had
departed but did not specify how many troops would be
deployed or exactly in what locations.

On Saturday Mafkarat al-Islam reported a statement by
Kamal al-Basri, administrative official in the Umm Qasr port
to the effect that 25,000 American troops had been
withdrawn from Iraq. He said that more than 65 airplanes
and more than 40 American ships had taken the troops from
Iraq to Kuwait.
