Motive in fatal stabbing puzzling (pregnant woman in OH)
Edited on Fri Feb-11-05 11:54 AM by patsified
The mother of a nine-months-pregnant woman suspected of fatally stabbing a Northern Kentucky woman Thursday said her daughter was defending herself.

And police are also looking into the possibility that the dead woman might have been trying to steal the other woman's unborn child.

Brady's mother said her daughter met Smith only a few days ago, when Smith called and introduced herself as "Sarah Brody."

Smith claimed that apparently because of the similarity of their names, she had mistakenly received a gift intended for Sarah Brady through a baby registry on a Toys R Us Web site, Constance Brady said. Sarah Brady is, in fact, listed on the Web site, with an expected due date of Feb. 3.

1. I think Sarah Brady
managed to fend off the woman who intended to murder her and take her child. Good for her.

Interesting scheme--using the baby registry. I suppose this woman, Katie Smith, was about to get quite a bit of information about Ms. Brady, like address, telephone number, and due date. Scary.

2. I'd say that based upon the circumstantial evidence that...

in all likelihood they will drop the charges or it will not be supported by a Grand Jury since this case looks quite as bit like a copycat attempted killing.

(Edited to add the word attempted for clarification)
