MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexican death squads trained in martial arts used bamboo sticks to kill students in a 1971 massacre as part of the government's "dirty war" against leftists, according to
newly-released witness testimony.

The files, obtained by freedom of information group Limac on Saturday, come from a genocide case that prosecutors are building against Luis Echeverria, president of Mexico from 1970 to 1976.

Some former members of the 1,000-strong "Falcons" paramilitary squad told prosecutors they had special training in the United States, Japan and Europe, according to Limac officials.
