Whistleblower to reveal U.S.-funded Iraqi media network grossly mismanaged; Reporters paid little, ‘trained by Al-Jazeera’Democratic policy hearings to rip Bremer’s handling of media

The public broadcasting network set up by the Defense Department aimed at winning the “hearts and minds” of the Iraqi people was so poorly managed that the network actually rehired members of Saddam’s Baathist party and sent reporters to be trained by Al-Jazeera, the Arabic television network routinely criticized by the U.S. State Department for inciting anti-American sentiment, RAW STORY has learned.
A senior advisor to the Iraqi Media Network will tell a hearing organized by Democratic senators Monday that the Fortune 500 company paid to set up the network “monumentally mismanaged the contract.”
The coalition provisional government, the witness says, destroyed the credibility of the network “through a combination of incompetence and indifference.” Read more at Raw Story:
