BAGHDAD, Iraq Officials have been finding bodies around Iraq as militants continue attacks on American and national forces.

Police found the bodies of eight Iraqis in shallow graves in a desert-area north of Baghdad. Officials say the men who had worked at a U-S military base had been bound, gagged and shot in the back of the head. Each had a note attached that said, "This is the punishment of the traitors."

Officials say they also found the bodies of two policemen on a highway south of Baghdad. Each had been shot in the head.

U-S forces clashed with militants in Ramadi and Samarra.

In Mosul, rebels attacked U-S convoys with bombs. U-S officials haven't reported any casualties in those attacks.

This caption says 4 US casualties. Think they are hiding figures from us??

They can't say the violence is getting worse in the leadup to the election. What now, swearing in of elected officials, drafting of the constitution or what?

5. Iraqi death squad tactics reminiscent of Guatemala, Nicaragua
...and other Latin countries when the Reagan administration was in power and Negroponte was overseeing policy in those countries. The same Negroponte is now in Iraq.
