SAMARRA, Iraq - Armed men kidnapped an official of interim Prime Minister Iyad Allawi’s party while four Iraqi policemen were killed in violence north of Baghdad, security sources said Thursday.

“Seif Abu Meshaal Hassan, in charge of the Iraqi National Accord in Salaheddin, was kidnapped from his house in Dijla,” near Samarra, 120 kilometres (75 miles) from Baghdad, they said.

Armed and masked men in four cars snatched Hassan late Wednesday.

The INA says that more than 20 of its members have been killed this year, and over 40 since the fall of Saddam Hussein’s regime in April 2003.

Last month, the group of Iraq’s most wanted man, Abu Musab al Zarqawi, released a film showing the killing of an INA candidate for the January 30 elections.

1. Another day, another atrocity
insert story # 487b.

While I have no sympathy for these collaborators, I have to say
it's sad for their families.

2. Allawi faction is biggest quisling.
They are the biggest pro-occupation force. Behind them are elements in the the Shia coalition supported by Sistani, though they are a minority. The Kurds are just being opportunist and are really not pro-imperialist.

3. Hey, David_77...just curious...have you ever read any of Tariq Ali's works
I've not seen the term "quisling" in forever and a day but Ali uses it a fair amount in his Bush in Babylon: The Recolonisation of Iraq
